Pot roast browning it?

I'm not a cook of any sort and I suppose I could just experiment and learn but hey... So I'm marinating a beef roast in a beer and worcester sauce with garlic pepper salt. Tomorrow when I brown it before putting it in crock pot do you think rubbing it with brown sugar before browning would give it a sweet crust? I just started marinating it so any tips for tomorrow welcome. Thanks!
