Cabin filter for 2011 ford focus?

Hi! First let me say that these are a crock of ****! In 40 years of driving I have never had debris blown into my face like I do with my 2011 Ford Focus. Another scam against the American driver. Anyway, is this filter easy enough for a female to remove and replace with going to the stealership? Where is it located under the hood? Can I remove this baby....wash it and put it back in like I can do with my home air conditioning unit? Thank you very, very much for any guidance you can offer.
